The Cruzeiro do Sul University believes in the principle that an University cannot exist without research. According to this philosophy, it invests in institutional programs that aims the development of student and faculty research. The results of this work could be observed by the institutionalization of research and the implementation of an Institutional Research Fund, which comprises four programs: Faculty Research Program, Research Initiation Scholarship (Cruzeiro do Sul and CNPq), Faculty Capacitation Program and Faculty Qualification Program. It is also important to point out, as a positive result from the work of Dean's Office of Post-graduation and Research:
approval by CAPES of Master's programs
institutional registration of 22 research groups in 2002 in CNPq
approval of research and research initiation projects submitted to FAPESP, CNPq and CAPES
approval of a Young Researchers' project by FAPESP
approval of a research project by an international sponsorship agency
cession by CNPq of a 25 scholarships quota, from August 2003 to July 2004, extended until July 2005
instalation of an external Scientific Comittee
enlargement of Research Initiation Scholarship quota (Cruzeiro do Sul)
acceptance of former undergraduate students in Masters' and PhD programs accredited by CAPES, such as ITA, INPE, USP, Unicamp, USP and UNIFESP
annual promotion of Cruzeiro do Sul's Research Initiation Meeting
attention to continuing education
edition of the 10th number of Cruzeiro do Sul Journal, included into Qualis/CAPES list.
